Heathcote Acupuncture

Welcome to Heathcote Acupuncture.

Hello, I am Catherine, Acupuncturist at Wakefield Osteopaths near the City centre.

I am passionate about providing safe and professional treatments that will look to address the symptoms and the root cause of your condition as well as discussing any life style advice that is relevant to you.

I have a special interest in Women's Health and trained with Naava Carmen to become Fertility Support Trained.  As a Hannah Pearn Affiliate I can also refer you to be supported with our Nutrition and Fertility Support Team when needed.

I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) which is the UK's leading self-regulatory body for the practice of Acupuncture. When performed by a fully qualified practitioner Acupuncture is safe and has very few side effects. Most people find treatment relaxing and calming.

I have undertaken extensive further training to support people with their fertility journey. This includes completing Naava Carmen's Fertility Support Training and I am also a member, and the treasurer, for the Acupuncture Fertility Network.

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an ancient tried and tested treatment from China, dating back more than 2500 years.  Single-use, sterile needles are inserted carefully into the body at specific points chosen for their therapeutic effect.  Once the needles are in place the patient usually rests for about 20 minutes to allow the body time to respond to the messages it is getting.

The BAcC website has lots of information on the many conditions Acupuncture may be beneficial for:

Acupuncture can treat both acute and chronic conditions.  NICE guidelines have recommended Acupuncture as an option to treat people with chronic pain:

Why do people come for Acupuncture?

Some people come to Acupucture as a first point of call to help with their health issues, some come as a last resort having not found help elsewhere and others come to maintain their health.  Whatever you are considering coming for please get in touch to discuss with me how I can help.
